OMG! The weight of latex sheets!
If you are going to make latex clothing, it is important to decide what the outfit is for. Dancing on a bar? Or just sitting on a chair?
Most latex clothes are made from a latex thickness of 0.40 and 0.50 mm. If you want to make a latex corset, or a latex belt, or a latex bag, you really need to get started with 0.80/1.05 mm. The thicker the latex, the heavier the latex and the less stretching.
With a latex belt it is not so exciting how heavily the belt is, because it is on your hips and it is stuck. But you don't want to make a latex catsuit of 1.05 mm, because it will not fit great, it will more like a diving outfit for your next holidays. ☺
And if you are going to make a Spanish dress, with lots of ruffles made of big latex circles, then 5 meter latex will soon be needed! If you finish the dress with a neck strap, then that weight will hang at one point in the neck. If the dress is worn on the couch only at home, it does not matter, but you wear the dress a whole evening at a party .... then put a lot of paracetamolets in your handbag in advance ... you need them ;-).
Below an indication of the weight of latex:
|Thickness:||100 cm x 1 meter||100 cm x 5 meter||100 cm x 10 meter|
|1.05 mm||1,10 kg||5,5 kg||11,0 kg|
|0.50 mm||0,65 kg||3,5 kg||7,0 kg|
|0.40 mm||0,55 kg||2,8 kg||5,6 kg|
|0.25 mm||0,35 kg||1,6 kg||3,2 kg|
